Field Supervisor and Quantity Surveyor
Description
We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to take on the combined role of Field Supervisor and Quantity Surveyor. This position requires expertise in overseeing field operations while managing costs, ensuring the effective execution of projects, and performing quantity surveying duties on site.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations on the construction site to ensure the smooth execution of work.
- Supervise site staff, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring they adhere to project specifications, timelines, and safety standards.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations on the job site.
- Coordinate and communicate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and the work is being performed according to design specifications and industry standards.
- Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for projects.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and material estimation from project plans and specifications.
- Monitor and control project costs and track changes, ensuring that the project remains within budget.
- Assist in tendering processes and evaluate subcontractor bids, providing recommendations on pricing and contracts.
- Work with project teams to assess the financial impact of design changes and resolve cost-related issues.
- Prepare and manage contract documents, ensuring compliance with legal and financial regulations.
- Track and manage project variations and negotiate with clients and contractors for cost adjustments.
Qualifications
- Experience in the construction industry, with a proven track record as a Field Supervisor and/or Quantity Surveyor.
- In-depth knowledge of construction site operations, safety procedures, and quality control practices.
- Strong understanding of quantity surveying principles, including cost estimation, budgeting, and financial management.
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and/or quantity surveying software.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- A proactive and hands-on approach to managing both field operations and project costs.
