On top of environmental issues especially waste management, currently most children’s snacks are often found to contain ingredients that are dangerous for their health. Therefore, on August 3rd, 2024 FINNS Bali and STIKES Bina Usada promoted waste management awareness and healthy snacks among the students of SD Negeri 1 Kukuh. This initiative aimed to foster the importance of waste management stewardship and healthy habits in the young minds of the school’s students.
The program featured a series of interactive workshops and activities designed to engage students in the learning process. 80 students joined in this activity. FINNS Bali representatives guided the children through sessions on proper waste management, emphasizing the significance of reducing, reusing, and recycling. These hands-on activities help students understand how to identify the different waste categories, and the impact of their actions in taking care on the environment.
This activity was also focused on promoting healthy snacks by STIKES Bina Usada, and students learned about the benefits of hygiene. Through fun and engaging demonstrations by coloring comic books, they were encouraged to adopt these practices in their daily lives, both at school and at home.
Hopefully all the children can grow up healthy with limited exposure to harmful substances from unhealthy snacks and our environment.
