FINNS Bali collaboration with Ragam Foundation: uniting to fight hunger

by: I Gede Wahyu Dani (ESG Coordinator-FINNS Bali)

Last week FINNS Bali joined hands with the Ragam Foundation to cook and deliver nasi bungkus to combat food insecurity in Bali. This collaboration with the Ragam Foundation, a dedicated non-profit organization focused on uplifting underprivileged communities, is a testament to shared commitment to social responsibility.

Nasi bungkus is a name for a meal wrapped in paper or banana leaves. Typically includes rice, vegetables, and a protein either from eggs, chicken, or tempe. This selection ensured that recipients received a balanced diet to support their health and well-being.

We started early at 8 am to make lunch from preparing, cooking, and getting the food ready for distribution. By midday, we set out to various distribution points around the Denpasar area, such as The Street Kids from Bali Life Foundation, Suwung Community Center, and Panti Asuhan Tunas Bangsa. The selected areas were chosen based on the assessed levels of need, with a focus on reaching the kids from poor family economic backgrounds. On average, 500-1000 meals are delivered every day.

This collaborative effort led by Ragam Foundation is a shining example of how initiatives can effectively address community needs. The lunch food is not just meals, but it also gives hope and reassurance to those facing difficult times. This inspires FINNS Bali to expand our impact by partnering with them to deliver meaningful help.
