In January 2025, FINNS Bali received an appreciation for their sustainability effort in recycling their used uniforms in collaboration with EcoTouch. In 2024, this project has effectively repurposed 750 kg of fabric waste into usable products, including insulation felt, recycled yarn, and new fabric.
EcoTouch was chosen as a partner for this project due to its shared mission with FINNS—reducing waste sent to landfills and repurposing materials into valuable resources. In this case, textile waste is recycled into new products. Buttons, logos, and elastic bands are separated before the fabric is shredded into smaller pieces, transforming into shoddy—a fibrous material processed into insulation felt and spun into yarn. This yarn is then woven into fabric to create new clothing, ensuring a circular approach to textile waste.
The impact of recycling 750 kg of textiles includes reducing carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions by 18,800 kg, cutting methane (CH₄) emissions by 30 kg, and preventing 21,932,832 microfibers or microplastics from polluting the environment. Through its partnership with EcoTouch, FINNS Bali is setting a powerful example for other businesses in Bali, demonstrating that responsible waste management can drive meaningful change.
